He also found a more unusual item shown below,\u00a0 part of a window grille.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1399\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thanetarch.co.uk\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/VM-78.jpg\" alt=\"VM 78\" width=\"600\" height=\"261\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Window grilles were structures that retained small panes of window glass, held by the star shaped clips riveted to the bar, within a wider frame. The grille let in light over a larger opening than could be covered by any single pane of glass that could be made at that time. The presence of a window\u00a0 indicates the high status of this building.
