The Isle of Thanet Sites and Monuments register contains over 700 entries recording archaeological sites and finds throughout the Island.
The entries are based on antiquarian observation, amateur and professional excavations, crop mark evidence and chance finds stretching back as far as the eighteenth century. A library of reports on archaeological investigations by the Trust and other agencies is held at our offices.
The references are now held on a GIS system and period based and thematic maps can be produced for the Island. These can be centred on any site or location.
The Trust hopes to make thematic data from the Thanet Sites and monuments register available on the Website in the future.
