Ice Age find spot is venue for lecture on the work of Thanet’s Archaeological Trust

On the 20th of April 2006 Ges Moody, Deputy Director of the Trust for Thanet Archaeology will be giving the first of this year’s popular public lectures on the work of the Trust for Thanet Archaeology, hosted by Thanet Archaeological Society.

The new venue for the event is the well equipped lecture theatre at the Broadstairs Campus of Canterbury Christ Church University at Westwood Road Broadstairs which was itself the site of one of the Trust’s most important finds - an Ice Age flint hand axe was found while monitoring the Campus site as it was being built (See the hand axe here).

A map showing the location of the Broadstairs Campus can be accessed by following this link to streetmap: MAP

Doors will open at 7.15 with admission at £3.50 and free parking.

Advance bookings can be made by calling the Thanet Archaeological Society's voicemail on 07906 360725.

Snow hits Thanet. Several centimeters of snow fell on Thanet today (other areas seem to have had a few flakes as well), luckily apart from a brief visit to Minster the team remained indoors and office bound. This was the view from our office window.
